Act 37 - Be second

Today’s act encourages us to let someone else lead our schedule for the day, to put another person’s priorities above our own.  As a full-time mummy with two small children, this is what I do most of the time but as suggested, I called up a friend and proposed catching up at a time and place convenient for her as I had some free time to spend with her.  We had a lovely afternoon sitting and chatting over a cuppa at a local garden centre whilst Jessica enjoyed running around in the soft play area and Sophie enjoyed having cuddles.

Act 28 - Go guerilla

Act 28 focuses on meeting someone’s need without telling them – for example, cleaning a neighbour’s car, picking up litter in a public place – without drawing attention to yourself.  It’s not easy to be inconspicuous though with two small children in tow!  So I focused instead on the idea of the raknomination (doing a random act of kindness) mentioned later in the post and have been putting together a slideshow video for a couple of friends.  It won’t be a secret who sent the video but hopefully they will like it and it will come as a nice surprise for them.

Act 7 - Redial

Today’s act encourages us to pick up the phone and call someone we haven’t spoken to for a while.  Whilst I usually keep in touch with what my friends are doing via social networking sites, it is fairly rare these days to have a phone conversation with them.  I phoned one of my old school friends who I last spoke to just after Sophie’s arrival (her youngest child is a few weeks’ older than Sophie).  We ended up chatting for just over half an hour (with Sophie trying to join in the conversation!)  It was good to catch up properly.
