Act 32 - Clear out

Today’s act encourages us to look through our wardrobes and re-gift the good quality clothes that we never wear to our local charity shop.  Two pregnancies in three years means that the clothes in my wardrobe range from a size 8 to a size 18 and so there are quite a few items I never wear anymore.  I’ve accepted that I may never fit into my pre-Jessica clothes and so some of these have been cleared out along with some of Michael’s clothes which he no longer wears and these have been donated to the British Heart Foundation charity shop.

Act 25 - Treasure hunt

Today’s act encourages us to go to a public place and let God lead us, asking God to do something through us.  I went into my local shopping centre and ended up chatting to one of the professional fundraisers who was trying to raise awareness of a charity called Action Medical Research For Children.  Whilst I wasn’t in a position to sign up for a regular donation, I did find out more about the work the charity has done, including developing the first UK polio vaccine, and ended up looking at their website later on and making a small donation.

Act 18 - #CharityTuesday

Today’s act encourages us to give to our favourite charity as part of #CharityTuesday.  One of the charities which I support is Little Hearts Matter – a charity which offers support and information to children with single ventricle heart conditions and their families.  I first came across Little Hearts Matter when I was pregnant with Jessica – their antenatal information pack was so helpful in coming to terms with her heart condition and the options available to us and we’ve tried to support the work they do ever since and have been fundraising for them through running coffee mornings at our church.
