Today’s special extra act was a prayer walk in central
London organised by the 40acts team and starting at Trafalgar Square where we
met up. It was lovely to meet Alex and
David from the 40acts team and fellow challenger Toby. We prayed together at Trafalgar Square and took
a walk together towards Leicester Square where we shared our stories and
reflections about the 40acts challenges over coffee. Hearing different perspectives about how the
challenges were met has given me a few more ideas for how I can continue to
carry on with the generosity challenges through Easter and beyond.

Act 40 - Celebrate
It’s the final day of 40acts and today's act encourages us to get
together with our neighbours and celebrate.
My local get-together took place on Tuesday when I invited some of the
other mums from my village over for coffee, tea and cake (it was lovely weather
so we got to sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine). There were eight of us – four mums and four
children. It’s only been in the last
year that I have got to know other mums locally and it’s good to be able to
sit and chat whilst the children play together.

Act 34 - Date in their diary
Act 34 encourages us to organise a community get-together
for Saturday 19 April and to send out invites.
As I already have plans for that Saturday, I sent out invites for a get
together this Tuesday. We usually meet
up at Hub Café, a café run by one of our local churches where mums can get
together over coffee and cake whilst their children play in the play area. It doesn’t run during the school holidays
though and so I have invited some of the local mums (and children) to my house
this Tuesday for coffee and cakes there instead.

Act 13 - Go local
Today’s act encourages us to support our local shops as
these are wonderful community hubs. I
have two favourite stops in our village – the bakery and the pharmacy. We had breakfast in the bakery this morning –
it is a fantastic place to meet other people and has a community notice area
with leaflets about local events. The
pharmacy is an essential stop in the village for my daughter’s regular heart
medication – the staff in there know their regular customers well and are
always very helpful with any queries, particularly when we have had
difficulties obtaining certain medication in the past.
